Ways to Install Your First-Ever WordPress Theme


WordPress has several ways to create a WordPress theme and change WordPress theme the existing theme to your preferred style to manage your theme. One of the easiest ways to install a custom WordPress theme is via the WordPress dashboard. This method allows you to download the compressed version of the theme you want to install.


You need to first log into your WordPress website and go to the dashboard on the left side of your screen. Since you already have an existing theme, click ‘Add New.’ You then have to upload the theme from the next page and click install now to install WordPress. The last step is to activate the theme using the activation button.

This method is only available with those with the WordPress.org account. Another method to install a theme directly from the WordPress directory. To do this, go back to Appearance on the dashboard and click Themes. You can then click on Add New. This time instead of clicking the upload button, identify the theme features that best suits you and wait for the installer to give you the themes that have your preferable features, and it will give you a list of themes. If you are satisfied, click install now, and you are done. Deleting themes is very straightforward and can be done in two ways. When you are about to delete a theme, ensure that it is not the primary theme. If it is, change it to another one, then proceed.
